Environmental Wastewater Solutions (EWwS) Ltd have introduced an innovative solution for process engineered wastewater treatment systems to discharge wastewaters which would be pollution content neutral to the receiving waters and optimised for reduced energy and operational requirements.
This ground-breaking concept uses desirable features of suspended growth and fixed film biological reactors to harvest the best of both technologies combined into one as non-integrated fixed film activated sludge system called NIFAS®.
In addition to achieving very high quality effluent the volume of organic sludge yield could be substantially reduced or eliminated. With optimised energy demand, reduced operational requirements and lower sludge production the system will offer the lowest lifetime cost of any available technologies. EWwS would provide full process design backed by mass balance and nutrient balance for both suspended growth and fixed film technologies. EWwS Package Plants can incorporate NIFAS® features for locations where nutrient reduction from treated wastewater is desirable or required to provide nitrogen or phosphorus neutral discharge for the receiving water.
