Environmental Wastewater Solutions (EWwS) Ltd Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) or biodisc technology is a fixed film biological treatment of wastewater with stable and consistent process performance and effluent quality for the discharge of treated wastewater to the environment. Our technology options allows you to accomplish varying degrees of carbonaceous or nitrogenous pollutants (BOD, ammoniacal nitrogen, TKN and TN) treatment. The technology is simple to use with its self-regulating biomass film for treatment processes to reduce pollutants from municipal and industrial effluents, such that the discharge is neutral to the receiving water. The RBC technology can also be used to design systems for treating food and industrial wastewater, including dairy, food processing effluents and any other biodegradable industrial effluents. The RBC technology is designed for simplicity of operation and maintenance, low power demand, low sludge yield, low capital cost and the lowest cost of ownership (TOTEX). The main RBC shaft, the media support frame structure and the media are designed for continuous operation for a 30 year design life.
